fear,terror and the love thing....

How can it be all love with the blanket of fear dripping from every form media. Right down to old fashioned 'word on the street' contact. Listen to people at bus stops, lines in delis, overhear the fear and terror. It's fear each other with crime starting on that street level. We're fed fear over things that are really concepts-- the economy, the future of social security and the environment. All styles of medicine agree that you can elevate over fear in one breath, you don't have to be a sadhu living on the river.

As Americans whether you want to say the policy is yours or not the war on terror has us checking ourselves at the sight of foreign backpacks much less what we in our personal 'isms' call suspicious foreigners.

In my neighborhood they wear suits and drive Stupidly.Utilized.Vehicles's, we see them as complacent in the fueling of the conflict. Is that a bottle of eco-cleaner or a discarded pipe bomb? Do we see that it's intense love for an idea or country that pushes people to commit such violent acts?

We are like children seeing the broom in the corner and sure it's the boogey man. Now it's obvious that the FearMedia was ramped up by the White House to sell us this war, does anyone feel safer? Really fear is based on perception, few of us are chased by tigers during our day, and usually it has to rely on the unknown. When we know the facts the looming fear dissipates.

Fear is the gift that keeps on giving. Most of the times it's placed in the past or the future. Now the big fear is the Asian flu? Damn this is tough it's so small who can battle it. The medical establishment that diverted so much of its energy to researching the perfect Viagra pill is now being exposed. They only research cash crops. Vaccines that help people to not need their products aren't a reality. We fear that the leaders of business, government, media and religion are not really acting in the interest of all, of the big picture, ozone on down to virus. Maybe we do have a real common fear after all. In the face of fear when we give or receive that basic human component love then you have courage.
